The ChanelSings Perspective: Beyond the Vocal Cords When you step into my studio, we aren't just looking at sheet music. We are looking at you as a performer. My journey started when I was just six years old, and through my Diploma in Music (Performance) and Grade 8 Distinction from London College of Music, I’ve learned that the difference between a "singer" and an "artist" is the ability to connect. 1. Your Voice is Your Only Non-Replaceable Instrument I often tell my students: if a pianist is having a bad day, they can bang the keys and walk away. If a guitarist breaks a string, they buy a new one. But your voice? It’s part of your body. Through ChanelSings, my mission is to provide a "safe haven" for your voice. I focus heavily on: • Vocal Health: Teaching you how to belt without strain and navigate your registers safely. • The VARK Approach: I adapt to how you learn—whether you need to see the anatomy of the throat (Visual) or feel the resonance in your chest (Kinesthetic). 2. From the Practice Room to the Spotlight I don't believe in "closet singers." My experience as a Judge for "Pub Voice" and a resident artist has taught me that stagecraft is a muscle. In my classes, we don't just stand still. We work on: • Stage Presence: How to hold a mic, how to move, and how to command a room. • Emotional Delivery: Understanding the lyrics so deeply that the audience feels every word. • The Competition Mindset: Drawing from my own competition experience to help you overcome performance anxiety. 3. A Culture of "Safe Mistakes" The biggest barrier to a great voice is fear. My studio is a judgment-free zone. I want you to make "ugly" sounds, to crack on the high notes, and to experiment. That is where the growth happens. Whether I’m coaching you for a professional audition or helping you find your voice for the first time, I use affirming, kind language to build your confidence from the ground up. 4. The Digital Stage Through my social presence as ChanelSings, I aim to bridge the gap between the academy and the world. I share snippets of my own performances and student wins because I want to show that the "Chanel’s Method" works. Music is meant to be shared, and I am here to ensure that when you share yours, it sounds exactly the way you’ve always dreamed.
