Hi, I’m Marnie Thies, a Suzuki-trained violin teacher with a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance. I have been teaching violin in person since 2004 and online since 2014, working with children 5+ and adults at a variety of experience levels. I am trained in the Suzuki Method through all 10 Suzuki books, and my teaching emphasizes strong fundamentals, beautiful tone, good technique, and helping students develop confidence and enjoyment in playing the violin. I teach students ages 5 through adult, from beginners who are picking up the violin for the first time to more experienced players who want to strengthen their technique and musicianship. My online violin lessons offer students the opportunity to receive individualized instruction from the convenience of home. I believe students learn best with patient, individualized instruction and clear guidance. My goal is to help each student make steady progress while developing a lasting love of playing the violin.
