I love to make music theory fun! My students are becoming familiar and comfortable with music concepts that help them with sightreading, improvising, and musicality. We study everything from scales and triads to intervals and key signatures and everything in between and then find ways to include or identify those things in their music. I believe this is where head knowledge and practical application meets! It's important to know music data and it's important to be able to play notes--but a student is the most successful when they can take what they know and use it musically. That's my goal for my students.
