Here's your bio for musicteachernotes.com: My name is Éilís, and I'm a traditional Irish fiddle teacher specializing in the East Galway Irish Music Tradition (EGIMT) — a rare regional style I learned directly from master fiddler Eddie Kelly in Castlerea, County Roscommon. I'm one of only four musicians worldwide playing purely in this tradition, and I'm now custodian of Eddie's 21 original compositions. My background includes classical piano and Leaving Cert music, but what I pass on to students goes beyond what any formal training can teach: the bowing, the ornamentation, the lilt — the things you can only learn by being in the room when the music happens. I teach students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced players and classical violinists crossing over into traditional music. Lessons are online via Zoom, available worldwide, in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions. I teach both by ear and with sheet music, tailoring my approach to how each student learns best. I've released two albums rooted in this tradition and maintain eddiekellymusic.com as a living record of Eddie's legacy. Whether you're picking up the fiddle for the first time or you've been playing for years and want to go deeper into authentic regional Irish style, I'd love to help you find your way into this music.
